News Flash, Main Event Registration Open Through Sunday Afternoon

Players everywhere can still pursue their dream by entering poker’s annual world championship

Las Vegas, NV (July 5, 2008) – It’s not too late to be part of history.  Players everywhere still have the chance to come and participate in the world’s largest poker tournament series.  Registration for the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event remains open.  But the opportunity of a lifetime for poker players everywhere is about to come to a close.  The $10,000 buy-in tournament continues with the play of Day 1-D, which has been designated as the final day players will have a chance to play in this year’s Main Event.

Registration is expected to close on Sunday afternoon, on July 6th.  No additional entrants will be taken after the conclusion of two levels of play, which is expected to come about 4:30 pm PST.

The 2008 World Series of Poker, presented by Milwaukee’s Best Light, has already set many new records this year.  This WSOP is the largest in history, both in the number of total participants and prize money awarded to winners.
