Poker Run Benefits MADD

July 14, 2008

A Poker Run, led by The Sober Riders Motorcycle Association was held on Sunday to raise money for the Calgary’s chapter of MADD, Mothers Against Drunk Driving. This was The Sober Riders Motorcycle Association’s 7th annual Poker Run.

When asked why the event was raising money for MADD, the event’s organizer, Keith Williams, said “I’ve been victim of impaired driving being hit by an impaired driver. I’ve lost a couple close friends due them being hit by drunk drivers.”

The group helped raise $10,260 and there were even reports that an additional $2,500 to $3,000 was raised during the trip.

Representatives from another motorcycle group (Pro-Am Motorcycles) were also present to give $500 to MADD.
