2008 WPT Legends of Poker Day 1A-B

August 25, 2008

Saturday August 23rd kicked off the World Poker Tour’s Legends of Poker $10,000 No Limit tournament. The event is held annually at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles. Last year it was pro “Action” Dan Harrington (author of Harrington on Hold’em) who walked away with first place and nearly $1.6 million.

This year’s total registrants only hit 373 opposed to 485 players who paid the $10K buy-in for last year’s event. Day 1 was split into Day 1A and Day 1B. 161 players battled it out on Day 1A with some notable pros like Vinny Vinh & Joe Sebok busting early. Day 1B had 212 players and a few more pros who were eliminated, including Daniel Alaei, Jennifer Tilly, Amir Vahedi, Justin Bonomo, Jean-Robert Bellande, Scott Clements, Chris “Jesus” Ferguson and Phil Ivey (who got knocked out exceptionally early).

Heading into official Day 2, there are still roughly 246 players. Action resumes at 2pm.
